BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Diogo Ribeiro, holds a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering (2002) a M.Sc. degree in Structural Engineering (2005) and a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering (2002) all from Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. After working in the industry as structural engineer (2002-06), he was Invited Assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering of ESTG-IPCB (2006-07) and joined the School of Engineering of Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP) in 2007 where he is currently Adjunct Professor. He is the director of the Bachelor course in Civil Engineering of ISEP (since 2014), director of the Postgraduate Program in BIM Coordination (since 2019), coordinator of BIM International Summer School (since 2019), management team member of Núcleo de Estudos da Construção (NEC-ISEP) (since 2016) and integrated member of CONSTRUCT R&D unit (since 2017). He has also held positions as subdirector of the Master course in Civil Engineering of ISEP (2012-13), subdirector of the Civil Engineering Department of ISEP (2012-14), subdirector of the Postgraduate Program in Urban Rehabilitation of ISEP (2013-14) and founder member of ISEPBIM academic group (2014). Prof. Diogo Ribeiro has supervised/co-supervised 6 PhD students (1 completed|5 ongoing) and 30 master students (26 completed|4 ongoing). He is consultant of Autodesk (Portugal, Spain and Brazil) for the software Robot Structural Analysis (since 2010) and coordinator of 10 technical partnerships between ISEP and industry in the field of experimental testing and automatic calculation in structural engineering. Prof. Diogo Ribeiro is editor of 8 e-books and author/coauthor of 4 chapters in international books, 20 articles in international journals, 8 articles in national journals and more than 100 articles published in national and international scientific congresses. He is ranked in SCOPUS as h-8, 397 citations and 44 documents. He is a member of the Editorial Board of 3 international journals. He was also researcher in 9 European projects financed by the European Union and 4 national projects funded by FCT, all in the field of railways. He was scholar visitor researcher in Bauhaus Universität of Weimar (2009-10) and University California San Diego (2016-17) and recognized with a Fulbright Award for Teachers and Researchers (2016) by Portuguese-American Foundation and FCT.
